How to enable sensors?
Our online compass requires your device to have certain sensors enabled. To enable them on Chrome, open the link provided below by copying and pasting it in a new tab and set Generic Sensor Extra Classes to enabled. Only do this if the compass isn't working for you.
What's a compass?
A compass is a tool that shows the cardinal directions which are used while navigating. It consists of a magnetic needle and compass rose (the card with all the direction labels). The compass aligns itself to the north direction using Earth's magnetic field. Magnets have north and south poles. The north pole of a magnet is attracted to the south pole of another magnetic. This property is fundamental to the working of a compass.
This site provides an online compass in your web browser without having to download or install anything. Online compass works by using your device's magnetometer sensor. This sensor allows us to know the orientation of your device.
